ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Rescue Squad Facility will establish a new 12,500-square-foot building in the Oak Lane area of campus, providing a dedicated home for the Virginia Tech Rescue Squad, one of the nation's oldest collegiate rescue squads. Since 1969, this student-run emergency medical services organization has been delivering critical care to the university community, evolving from its humble beginnings using personal vehicles to becoming an important campus safety resource.

The new facility will enhance the squad's ability to maintain its high standards of emergency medical response while supporting ongoing training and operations. This strategic location in the Oak Lane area will help support rapid response times across campus, allowing the squad to continue its legacy of outstanding service to the Virginia Tech community.

This purpose-built facility represents an important investment in campus safety infrastructure by supporting the vital work of the Virginia Tech Rescue Squad as it serves, trains, and develops future emergency medical service professionals.
