Earth Week 2017 events include activities aimed at building a more sustainable community

In the week leading up to Earth Day, April 22, the Virginia Tech community celebrated Earth Week with various activities. The annual festivities focused on an environmentally friendly theme each day. Monday was clean energy, Tuesday was community, Wednesday was food and health, Thursday was nature and conservation, and Friday was social justice.

Bike to Campus Day

On Monday, April 17, officials from the Office of Alternative Transportation had sations set up at Duck Pont Trail, Squires Plaza, and McBryde Hall, where they had free snacks, water, and other items.

Coca-Cola's Ekocenter

On Tuesday, April 18, Coco-Cola set up an informational booth on their Ekocenter.

Pop-Up Farmer’s Market

On Thursday, April 20, the community shopped a Pop-Up Farmer’s Market on the Drillfield.
