Planning
The Planning Division is responsible for creating the university's pre-design phase feasibility studies - essential to establishing accurate scope and schedule parameters for the streamlined completion of the design and construction phases of university capital projects.
Once the site has been selected, the Planning Division will undertake a complete study of the existing conditions and users needs, considering such issues as: size and functions of the facility, type of research proposed, pedestrian and vehicular circulation, parking opportunities, existing underground site utilities, future building expansions, necessary code compliance, existing hazardous materials, level of sustainable design involvement, type of construction, staging of materials, method of project delivery, implications to existing buildings' adaptive re-use, anticipated construction costs and expected occupancy dates.
